This series is about not about climate change it is about our climate system that is changing — so what is the difference? We live on a planet that is supported by the most intricate and important system — a climate system made up of multiple parts – oceans, rainforests, glaciers, wind patterns, eco systems. They all work to keep our climate stable, but many of these elements, are starting to change, and these changes, are having a domino effect — no longer is our climate system stable, it is becoming unpredictable, and our weather systems are changing – the question is where are we headed? How will the system change and how will these changes affect our future generations who will be left with our legacy?
Will our legacy be one of inaction, “head in the sand”, rejection, completely absorbed in an eternal debate? Or will our legacy be one of positive solutions and adaptation, planning and action to preserve what we can and adapt where we can no longer effect changes?
We have time, but not much more time.
As Professor Ben Abbott said:
“We have the tools to adapt and change?
We just need the WILL of the people to make it happen”.
“Make a change – make it count – while we still have time.”
This series is for my darling children Dakotah, Montegah and Indiana, I hope we will be able to leave you a planet that is full of hope and a future that is bright and beautiful.
